Gilera Runner 209 ccm Quattro valve

with mein ex-209 malossi i`ve made 21.000 km in city wheelye and speed in just one year!it`s ok for the city!so is more than ok!!!

I thought about that as well, but is the 209 thát unreliable? It is for the street but just for the fun and not really for daily transport or something. Maybe 1000 to 2000 km a year...

The reason why I think that the 209 is better than the Kubler is because of particular the stroke of the engine.
A rewy engine feels and often are faster on a track where a slow rewing high torque engine is more calm and relaxing in the city.

PorT...
I would without any doubt advice you to chose a sport or racing vario again.
But remeber I use very light rollers (6½ grams) so I can't realy tell the comparison.
The Different valvesprings should allow your valves to work faster = Rews = power (sort of)
The larger the valves, the more potential power.
If I had the ability to chose the Malossi Head when I made my engine I would have bought it, but since I have spend a lot of time and money on the stock head. I stick to that a little while longer.

I would like if I could help you. But to help you properly, I would need to test your vehicle. But that is hard due to the geografic circumstances :|

Do you mean this wheel? (in front of the picture)

This is from the 125cc engine, the 180/200cc Scooter have a heavier one.

Or do you mean the flywheel? its also from a 125cc engine and wight only 700gr.

Yes what its?. i don't hav this part

PS:V@no checked the max speed of the multivar roller 14g and 9g ? are the differences of max speed? only acceleration?

I bought myself a large glass Puig for Tourist .Height: 450 mm Width: 570 mm

until yet i don´t feel a difference (244 quasar vs. 209 + v4 head), but i drive with stock exhaust because i must modify the pipe from my leovince sbk (its the exhaust from my derbi gp1)

i hope the exhaust will increase the performance

Hey guys im brand new in this forum so i got som questions to all of u and espesially to velo.

First of all i have Gilera runner 125 vx 2005 model.
Since my old cdi got broken from temperature reasons i desided to buy the malossi 74 mm cylinder-pistons and bought a brand new cdi(not malossi just the original piaggio one).
As i read what u were writing before because it was born 125 not a 200 it has low top sped and thats my problem my top spd ot is 125-128 max.
So i need ur opinion Velo:
First:should i use a camshaft from malossi?(im not gona take the malossi cdi so i think i sould buy only he camshaft)
Second:I'm planing to buy the leo vince 4 road exhaust should it be nice for more power?
Third:I'm planing to buy the 34 delorto carburator for more fuel should it work properly on my 210?
Fourtho u think that multivar 2000 will add som power on my scooter or should i just play with the gramms of (dont remember the name)(ραουλα η μπιλιες in greek)
Fifth:malosi digitronic or normal piaggio?or no need at all?
Finaly:Whats the best first and second year for my gilera i dont want it for 400's i just need to see some more km's at my spedometer more than 125..

I'd be happy if u could tell what part of my scooter should i change first cause i dont have all the money in the world
Waiting for ur replies and thanks to all who answers to my post
Special thanks to Velo which i wait his profesional opinion on this one.

It looks like a nice sleeper.
I think some stickers like this would look cool on your ride:

Thanks a lot, but I am not professional, Just some random scoot head on the net doing what I do best. 8P:#

First: I have blow to many heads to advice you to chose a racecam for a head without race valves and springs. (Though it wasn't leader engines)

Second:
I think that you should carry on with this, an exhaust like this would be a good improvement for your scoot.

Third: This would help you to control the power better.
You can't use your underseat compartment if you chose this upgrade.
If you like wheelieing or riding in that caliber. This would be a good upgrade for you.

Fourth: A vario doesn't give you power!
But a sport vario changes faster and does normally have a smaller powerloss than a stock vario. It will make it easier to overtake.

Fifth: It is my oppinion that you won't experience a gain worth the extra money compared to an exhaust and/or a gearupgrade.

Finally: Go for whatever brand you find best.
If it is the secondary gears that are limited in your engine. Then I would change the second gears.

The best upgrade for your money that you can get is a different exhaust and rollers that fits to the upgrade.

Hello!

Just one question; Did you change your 125cc secondary gear? If you still have original 125cc secondary gear maybe you should first try to change it for this one:

Best regards

So guys what r u recomending is to change my secondary to 16/42 will that give me more top speed?and delorto 34 phf and leo vince 4 road will increas somehow my scooters power?

Does any one know if the Euro 3 leader engines are slower than Euro 2 or 1; Is there a way to remove the emissions sensors/restrictions? I have a canarby 124 euro 3 and it seems way slower than older beverly's. My main issue is the mid range performance - power seems really flat 60kph to 85kph. I have malossi variator, leo-vince exhaust, and yellow malossi clutch springs. Tomorrow I will put lighter rollers and the red malossi springs in an attempt to get rid of the fat spot.

From my understanding the leader motors create 15hp standard and the honda sh a bit over 13hp; but my honda sh with polini variator and clutch kills my canarby. I only seek to have acceleration for overtaking and am trying to avoid increasing the displacement because where I am from we are limited to 150cc; and there is a dyno that test the scooters when we license them.

Any input on set up / restriction removal would be great - I have not really looked over the motor much beside the transmission but I was thinking of maybe advancing the standard cam timing a tad to give it a bit of grunt as i have done with a few old school 4 stroke bikes; but i believe my problems can be solved by transmission tunning - just need to know what direction to go.

thanks for the input.
