Gilera Runner 209 ccm Quattro valve

revs are lower

then your scooter dont have the power to rev more throu the wind that pushing at you scooter

you can look for more power so that the scooter can clim to more rev
or change you roller that yourscooter revs more in the powerband so that it can climb more at the topend

But I do think that you need to look into your carburettor and/or airfilter.

Now I understand what is "carburetor" :# please tell me whether I could give another scooter carburettor? Piaggio? maybe Aprillia Leonardo 150? How do I choose? :p. You have the valves Malossi right?, As I understand I need to enlarge the 2mm?. This is My Runner

No full power :)

Carburetter = Vergaser ex. Wallabro, Mikuni, Dell'orto, Keihin.

If you buy the malossi Valves, you will need to re-grind the head othervise they won't close proberly. This does need some specialist macinery.

My best bid for you is that you try out with some different main jets
http://www.speedline.dk/scooter/item.php?ItemId=2915 Tjeck out the size of what you have now. It need the have a higher number.
Besides that. You will allso need lighter rollers. More rews = more potential power

Today I pulled carburetor, may change only my air filter? and Tjack? Originals is very little air intake and still draws from the engine warm.

it's my carb, Walbro

Dimensions rounded, i don't have caliper

Air filter + stricture

If you take off the buttom of the carb. there is a small screw in the middle. there is a hole in it and a number on it. It is a 6 mm dell'orto main jet. You will need one with a higher number. Around 5-10 larger. This should improve the pull of your engine. And then you would possibly need lighter rollers.

velo plz answer my this question correctly mate because ı will spend 500 euro and buy malossi head if u give an optimistic answer..you know that ı have malossi valves camshaft and modifications on head..(enlarged inlet canals etc..) .. does malossi promise 15%-25% power increase with malossi head comparing to my modified head or only stock head with orginals valves-camshaft and etc.? Besides do we have to buy the new piston and why?

damnnnn!! is there 269cc malossi cylinder for 4t's now? :S if we buy this part will we have to buy the new head?
The 269cc cylinder is for 244cc Quasar engines and gives real only 258cc (74mm bore * 60mm stroke = 258cc and not 269cc).

But for 244cc Quasar engines is it cheaper to buy the 278cc cylinder and crankshaft, gives more power (see the charts above).

There is a new owner to the Bitubo's and winter is making it look bad :-(
But hey, track is closed so I'll live.
"Malossi Head" and 209 cc cylinder still for sale!

First of all. Go have a look here on page 9 and on malossi.com there is a new folder about the performance of the head.

There is powercurves on different engines allso. This should make it easier for you to see what to chose or not.
The reason why you would need a different piston is because of the valve size. The larger valves needs a larger cutout on the pistion. You don't need to buy the other pistion. It is enough if you modify you current piston (! - expertise job<] )

Hello Velo :),

Thanks for this link. Now I know what to do, but I understand that the tests were done on the original carburetor?. Can you tell me whether a product Malossi 2712996 "4 Stroke Value for oryginal Head" do I have to increase channels of valves?.

I have the nozzles (jets) 105, they installed it with the Malossi cylinder. Give more? or leave it?, I want to mount the air filter Polini Airbox

Would you use a Leovince SBK or a 4Road, if you were to drive your runner on the streets? I will use a 300ccm kit and malossi head, so I'm looking for some serious performance, only I'm worried that the SBK might be too loud.

However, I heard that Leovince makes Race cans and Street cans (SBK series) but I can't find that info.

Here is the link to the SBK I want http://scooter-center.com/scoweb/pa...y1=A:A_GILERA:A_GILERA_NEXUS250&category2=CAT

You will need to modify your stock head if you wan't to mount those valves.

I advise you to put in an other jet, especially if you put on an other Air filter.

I am not to familiar with that line of exhausts.
But you can be shure that if it is streetlegal then it isn't too loud.
I will not rule out if there is a sport version of the SBK exhaust. Though I find it hard to belive that it would exist to the scooters.

@ Robbinm

the street & race exhausts are only for motorcycles..

mate ı got u thx for the answer :D there is no clue in malossi site about the most important question for me which is = ''is the power increase 15%-25% comparing to stock head or added to my mofidied head with malossi parts?'' there is no point in buying the new head and spending 500euro if it is compared to the stock head

Thanks Velo and Chrisch for the answers.

You say the SBK is loud. I can handle a little sound, but I don't want it to be annoying after driving a couple of miles, I want to go take some tours with it two.

Is the 4Road (for the nexus, otherwise it won't fit the 300ccm kit) good enough, or is there another pipe (scorpion???) out there that does better with little sound?

I really appreciate your answers as no-one in my surroundings (and dutch internet forums) seem to know appropriate answers. Thanks very much.

what do you huys think is the best exhaust system for a runner 210?

pm tuning
leovince 4road vs sbk?
schorpion
leovince gp
serdarvic

i pref that the exhaust is full lenght i mean that the front piece is also bigger in diameter!
i dont want a exhaust that only the silencer! different

thx

I don't think that you will experience that much powergain compared to a tuned stock head with different valves and all.
