Gilera Runner 209 ccm Quattro valve

hello guys. I'm Italian so I arrange for a translator, I would like to know if the unit shown in page 4 is compatible to the engine block 250/300 quasar thanks

hey guys,

here joey from the netherlands :P

I just bought myself a vxr a month ago with this funlist
Malossi 210 CC
Malossi CDI unit
Malossi valves
Malossi camshaft
Malossi sec gearing
Malossi phf 34mm Carb
Malossi Multivar
Kevlar Race exhaust

however it didn't ru quite well
So it was fine tuned on the (how do you say that in english) "rollerbank"
it went from 16 rwhp to 19

but still it isn't really that fast.

yesterday i bought a seconde vxr engine so that i can build an faster engine.
but which setup is best, i was planning 2 buy the 278 kubler kit.
Does anyone here allready has experience with that kit ?
Got some results ?
Like Chri$ch, he was building a 278cc engine, how are the results of his project ?

well hope hearing from you soon guys (y)

If it is the internal Rotor iginition that you are reffering to. I must disappoint you. It doesn't fit the crankshaft.

But, if you seek advice conserning the iginition unit. Try to send Chri$h a personal message.

Congratulations with your purchase.
First, as far as I am aware of. "rollerbank" is called Dyno

Conserning your power output, my bet is that you will gain some power if you finetuned your roller and carburator setup.

Conserning the 278 ccm kit, My advise is that you try and look up Cri$hs topic and/or asks him about it. I haven't, unfortunately, found any info conserning that particluar setup.

Hi Velo,

If you remember i told you that i will write here when my scooter will be finished with tuning. My scooter is 2006 new Gilera VXR 200, and here are the parts changed:

-Valve spring set with jets -MALOSSI- Piaggio Leader 125-200cc LC, Quasar 250-300cc
-Camshaft -MALOSSI Power Cam- Piaggio Leader 125-200cc LC
-Gear box final drive -MALOSSI- Piaggio 125-200cc Leader - 15 I 41
-CDI -MALOSSI Digitronic- Piaggio 125-200cc LC Leader (models with immobiliser)
-Carburator kit -MALOSSI MHR Dellorto PHF 34- Piaggio Leader LC - CS=40mm
-Cylinder -MALOSSI 210cc- Piaggio LC Leader
-Malossi variator Multivar 2000
-LeoVince 4 road
-Xenon Kit

I must tell you that i am very disappointed. There is no difference except that the scooter is running in 9.500 rpm and its more loud... all this cost me 2000 eur and there is the same top speed and accelerating. What can i do, do you have any suggestion or idea?

I am very sorry to bother you again but i am soooo sad and angry on myself...

Tnx

Dejan

This is where the fine tuning begins, adjustment of rollers and jets to optain maximum performance.
Wich roller weight are you using?

malossi 4vhead+ diffrent piston

look very nice

i already have the 74 bore cilinder

so i need to change the piston if i want to change the clinderhead in to the malossi 1:-:

velo do you now the intake+exhaust diameters in mm?

and maybe the new 4v head of malsoi uses a other cam?

and what is this art 3113928 cilinder 74 bore 60stroke 269cc? wher did that came from?

is the stroke differnt "how else is it 270cc?

i work at Malossi Romanian Team and i`ve asked Fabio at Malossi Bologna - Italy about the new cilinder head and he say that this head it will compress more the engine.it will give you 14,5:1-15,5:1 compression and about 4-5 hp more.i will buy that "mechanicat toy"

Lots of activity.
The new cilinder is for the big block engines with a different cranckshaft.

The head looks like to be a tuned version of the stock piaggio head specially casted for Malossi. Then mechined to a higher compression and with increased port diameter. And apperantly with the same valves and springs that Malossi sells as tuningparts for the stock head.

The head is expensive but compared to doing the tuning your self. it isn't that bad acctully

The head is sold without cam or lifters I am looking forward to see some pictures of the head close by. This could be the thing that will take the 209 cc leader engine above 25 wheel hp

i believe that the malossi valves that are sold in store are smaller then te ones that they used in this head?
maybe the angle of the valves are different in this head, but i haven't got high expectations of this one.

diameter of the malossi valves

any1 nows what the diameter are of the old malossivalvesthat goes into the orignale head

and the valves of the malossi 4 v head? in mm

and the orginale valves in mm

and if the angle and the lift are diffrent ande way the inlet/exaust channels flowes?

The Caster of the head is the same as the stock head. They have just printed a malossi name on it instead of a piaggio logo. I have trouble in beliveing that they have changed the angle of the valves. Espacially since you have to use stock lifters.

Conserning the valves. I didn't mesure my valves, I was in a hurry getting it all together, But I do know that they don't fit the seating of the stock head as it is. You will need to have the head processed before they will fit properly.
Allso, if you intend on making your head flat like in fig. 6 on this link http://www.malossi.com/Archivio_Files\MONTAGGIO\7312996_001.pdf
You will need to remove the inlet valves, simply because they are too big.

It would have been nice if I was sweating money. Then I would gladly purchase the new head and cylinderkit and test it out for the fun of it, and for you guys out there.

But I must admit. If I was going to do a lot of engine changing. A new porting of the head + a Kübler kit could be nice. That would allso make it posible for me to skip the elektrik starter and get a kickstarter for it. (I can allrady feel my feet hurt...) Or...
I could put a Peugeot Jetforce Superchager on it as it is now. The cost is allmost the same anyway.

Cool idea....

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOGGW1ANXs4"]YouTube- Stephan´s Joe Blob - Rex450 180cc SUPERCHARGED[/ame]

the malossi valves are:

Intake: 23,04mm
outlet: 20,4mm

video of that 180cc sounds like something is scraping in the engine hahah

Not bad. Could be nice with that tuned head then.

?? Any body wants to buy a tuned stock head?? 250€ incl. Malossi valves and springs :winner: Used Malossi 209 ccm cylinder can follow for an additional 100€

I don't know who build that scooter but I think that the sound you might have noticed is the compressor. I meet him at SAWE where I saw it at first, but it didn't realy perform all that well.

The idea of a supercharged engine is groving on me. Superchargers is a lot easier compared to a turbo. And alot more driveable.

guys do you promise 4-5 hp with that tuned head and that piston?..ı took my bike to dyno 1 month ago before drag race and it was nearly 25hp..so do you promise me about 29-30 hp and the chance to beat gilera based 2 strokes in even drag race? if the situation is like that ı LL spend about 600 euro ..so plz be sure about that and give the news mates.. and are we going to use our malossi camshafts only for this head ? are valves included the new head or are we going to use our malossi valves with it?

I advise you to take contakt to Malossi on what powerlevels that can be expected with that head.
As far as pictures tell. The head is with valves and springs, the rest is up to you. Race cam, stock cam or what ever you would like.

I think that Malossi only promises 15 - 25 % compared to a full stock head.
