Gilera Runner 209 ccm Quattro valve

i believe that the crankshaft is the same.

i know for sure that the camshaft is exactly the same.

As far as I am informed. The crankshaft is longer on the varioside in the big engines compared to the smaller engines. Thought, I admit, I am not shure if this is only on the air cooled models compared to the liquid cooled versions or if it is on the LC models allso.

So what is necesary to replace to make it run smoothly?
I have a cilinder already... I know that gears must be replaced. Anything else?

The cylinder should do the job. Maybe a different jetting and some other rollers.
But othervise I don't think you would need much more.

Crankshafts are not same, on VXR is longer on vario side like velo said than on VX, camshaft is also different, VX camshaft doesn't have hole to put decompression kit and peaks (I don't know how to say otherwise) are sharper, carbs are different in small things, cylinder head also (difference in channels for cooling) and all other differences you have added...

To Lukkkss:

Put on your bike Cylinder from VXR, secondary gears & Multivar and that's all you need in start, bike will run pretty good, I have similar setup and I'm satisfied with it, I don't know which carb do you have, if you have Walbro you can leave it, other, my advise is to put camshaft from VXR and decompression kit because you will have problems with starting your bike...

The parts are original Piaggio. But modified so it will fit a leader engine.

hey veLo ı win the drag race that ı was talking about you(300m)..now my scoot is the fastest runner 210 in cyprus..but ı did a mistake by putting 125 gears and 9 mm rollers because it makes powerwheelie much stronger than a 2stroke but after 100kmh it slows down (with malossi gears it is more powerful and fast in 300m but it doesnt make powerwheelie) ı will add the vids as soon as possible ..thanks for ur helps mate

That sounds Great!

I am looking forward to see the results.

Help needed!!!

I need stock primary & secondary gears ratio for these bikes: DNA 180, VXR200 (I heard that there are two types of secondary gears) and Beverly 200. I found for VXR180 & VX125. Please write here if you know or tell me where can I find ratios.

you really don't get it. this is a person's projectpage, where he wants feedback about his project.
if you want answers, you should open a page in the guestions-part.

still love the runner!! how is it comming with the engine?

well...yes i do admire his project very much. very fine piece of work. velo doesnt seem to mind when we ask. no harm intended....I'm from singapore and some parts are not available here. this just looked like the best place to ask..

Hello! I am from Russia and have runner vx125. Firstly to the author - very good runner, really great, much money was spent.

I have a question. What transmission to use with kubler 278 kit(variator and torquedriver) from 125 leader or from 200 leader? Malossi has two different variators and torques for these engines. I asked because I have a leader malossi multivar for 125 engines on my zip.

I must admit, I am pleased about your attention.
But I don't have, unfortunately :-D, endless knowledge.

Conserning gears. Take contact to your local Piaggio Dealer. He should be able to look all items up on the piaggio service pages. This takes sometimes a lot of time. But, I am shure that if you are nice to him and supports his shop. He would be able to help you.

Conserning Malossi Vario systems.
Go have a blast on malossi.com
Find the vario's that you seek and take a look under spareparts. Normally many of the varios are the same. The main differences is rollers, springs and length on the internal bush. Though keep in mind. This isn't a fact, but an observation, and you can therefor risk that there are differences.

Conserning what this topic is about I must disappoint you. At the moment I am working off my debt from the summer but there are a long while until spring anyway.

The engine as a whole is for sale with 2 different vario systems (Sorry but quite expensive!) and my shock absorbers are for sale allso.
The Bituboes are special build by order and can be purchased for € 649,- + shipping

They can be bought through the company where I work, so there will be no problems conserning delivery or payment if somebody does have an interest.

Thanks for your answer!
I'll try that way!
I have some manuals from Piaggio but there isn't too much informations...

what is the stock gear ratio for vx 125 ?pls help me.on my scooter i have put back the stock gear and i have a verry big gain of power.

Velo...do you know if the primary gear made by Polini can work with the secondary gear made by Malossi?i`m talking about my gilera runner 125 vx with 210 malossi engine

If your engine got the power to pull it. I can't see anything that should prevent the parts for working together.

Small update btw. I have purchased a 50 mm inlet funnel and a 30 mm inlet funnel and I am looking forward to try them out in the dyno when I got some sparetime for it.

We have allso got hold of some proper proper slick racing tyres.

With a price lower than 100€ it isn't that bad ither.

I am looking soo forward to try them out when the temperature gets better again.

P.S.
Rear shocks is still for sale. Just send me a notice if you would have any interest. The price can be discussed!
