Runner VXR 209 ccm for sale. Pure Race!

Hi Forum

Just a tiny bit update.

I have got complete new farings for the Runner and I have changed the crankshaft one more time. This time back to stock since I destroyed the Malossi. And on top of that, new stickers and some cleaning too.

The plan is to Put a Küblerkit 278 ccm on it when I get some money again. But for now I think that there is plenty power in the 209 ccm setup. It outran both a 244 ccm VXR and a Vespa GTS 300 at lausitsring during SAWE 09.

I have allso got a new vario setup for it. I have changed the starter to a 125 version wich saves me for around 550 - 600 grams on the crank.

Lets start with the starter.
Now it looks like this:

Instead of this:

The new bodywork is a complete italien race red kit bought through the company where I work. ( www.speedline.dk )

First everything got stripped:

Then, slowly, pieces of plastic started to find its way to the frame:

During this operation. I couldn't resist cleaning my rear shocks. So they where semi dismantled and cleaned.

Every single piece of plastic is changed to new. Only the radiator, fork piece and helmet compartment is reused as well as all the carbon pieces.

Complete with some holes for the additional cooler and a nice bit of stickers.
It now looks like this - when dragged around by me :# :

622484_l.jpg

And even though it is heavy. You can with the new SBS High Friction brake pads endo the bastard with more than 100 km/h:

Unfortunately, my crankshaft broke at this event. So that needed changing. Here som pictures from the process:

This is bad, metal pieces in the oil... Damn

Then stock crank was mounted again.
As said. I had mounted a new Vario. I have bought a Polini 9 Roller Maxi Speed Vario.
And first proper dyno run at SAWE I had put in 7.5 gram rullers in all 9 places.
That resulted in 14BHP with something that sounded like 4.000 - 7.000 rpm
LAtet that weekend. I ended up driving with 3 x 8 gram rullers. and 6 empty roller casings. Quite some difference I must admit. But I have found a solution on how to make lighter 20x12 mm rollers now.

More updates on power levels and performance will follow later.
But top speed at the end of the streight at lausitsring was 154 km/h @ speedo

If you wan't to buy my Runner. Please dump me a private message.
If you want to buy just the engine. Please, send a Private message as well. But have in mind. Perfomance doesn't come cheap.

See you around. Regards Velo

Just wan't to try something different.
CC = power and the Küblerkit it 69 ccm bigger than the Malossi

But so far I am not convinced that it is the best.

which variator you find better ,malossi multivar or the polini 9rolls (in torque, power, acceleration, top speed)???

The Malossi I know best. So for that reason The VXR feels most familiar with the Multivar. But on the Dyno I have had the best results with the Polini.
Top Speed is very good with the Polini but I need further development in roller setup before I am convinced. The Polini is so far too slow out of the corners, but since I lack propper roller weights for. But you can change the fillings of the rollers. So no problem there. Where I on the Multivar need to drill rollers to get them light enough.

So there is most plus sides to the Polini

velo do you know the pressure that ur cylinder creates?..my old cylinder that was scratched was 105..ı wonder the pressure of the new cylinder..

Hi Velo, i admire your hard work on your Runner. Its very nice!

Camshaft -MALOSSI Power Cam- Piaggio Leader 125-200cc LC - item number"M5911962"

Gear box final drive -MALOSSI- Piaggio 125-200cc Leader - 15 I 41 - item number"M6712067" 15 I 41

I allready have malossi variator and LeoVince 4 road on it.

What is the diffrence betwen Digitronic with immobiliser on no imoobiliser?
What will be the top speed?
Do you think that i need something else?
Will cylinder 210 made any diffrence to my 200.?

If you are so kind can you try to give me some answers... ?

Thanky you!

Dejan

Thanks. I try to do my best with it.
It sounds like a good setup. Though I don't think that you will gain very much from the Malossi Cylinder compared to you own 200 ccm cylinder.

You will experience some testing with jetting and roller setup but after that I think you wil have a fast and powerfull bike.

If you have a little red LED that blinks on your speedo and you have a chip key. You will need to have the CDI with immobiliser and if not. You shall purchase the model without immobiliser

wich gear is better for maxim top speed?15/41?16/42?17/49(piaggio beverly 200cc).i have a gilera runner vx 2002 with a multivar,209cc malossi, 15/41 gear, digitronic cdi malossi without imob., camshaft malossi.my top speed is 130.i have heavy rollers.3x14 gr. + 3x15gr. if i put light rollers i have a good start but a bad top speed.i want to run 160:) on bord.what shell i do?thank`s and sorry for my bad-bad-bad enghish. :)

Velo Thank you very much with the answers! Which rollers do you suggest? I don't really understand what is jetting? When the scooter will be finished i will make some videos and info about it.

Thanks
Dejan

The 15/41 gives a Ratio of 2.73
The 16/42 gives a ratio of 2.6 and
The 17/49 gives a ratio of 2.88

This means that the 16/42 gives the best top speed.
Running with so heavy rollers I think that the Stock cam would be better for you.

The gain a Cam gives you is at the High RPM Area, that means light roller weights. If you can runn with light Rollers. The reason can be that:

Your pressure spring can be to heavy (Don't run stock spring, it will destroy it self!)
Your exhust can't work propperly at so high RPM. Change to a Racing exhaust. - A PM, a scorpion or a Leo. 4 road

An other way to a higher top speed:
If you don't want to lie flat along you scooter. Mount a small windscreen. Though this sound silly. It will improve your top speed.

Jetting is when you change your main jet to find the proper setup of your carb.
Rollers is allways an individual sulution. ATM I rund very very light rollers.
But I have a ported head ass well. and that gives quite a lot.

if i put light rollers, it goes in hight rpm and i don`t know if this is good for the cylinder.it`s a 4t not a 2t (who work`s better in hight rpm).in other order...if i put the light rollers i have a big lost of power...he goes like crazy in hight rpm but at wheel i don`t have power.at the clutch i have yellow springs and a white central spring.thank`s velo...i`ur the best!

I know it is a four stroker. Mine pulls best at around 10.500 rpm - 11.200 rpm though.

Hey Velo!
Could you please give me the instructions how do remove the engine from the gilera 125 vx. And i'm wondering how much torque did you use to tighten your head nuts..?

Greetings from Singapore

Hi Velo, Nice project.

i just found out about this website and came across this thread. Has anyone tried the 244 or 278cc quasar kit? I'm riding a vxr200. My crankshaft is bad and i plan to work on my bike.
Current mods on my bike; polini speed control, malossi delta clutch, polini speed bell, ported head, leovince SBK.
I have in stock a malossi cylinder but its just 209cc. The malossi crankshaft cost almost 1.2k here in my country so i would like to try the 244cc quasar kit. I hav checked n it cost just over 1.1k with shipment.
I'd like to make it race ready, but the tracks here in singapore are small and tight.....so top speed is not really wat i'm lookin for. ANY suggestions or recommendations anyone?
