scooter sprint racing; the Japanese way

But talking about bhp... How well do those scoots preform? And what about the general weight? (By the way... In Holland the most common measurement is in SAE, measured on the rearwheel)

i dont know how much BHP these Japs scoots can produce, but all i know the fastest time in their 1/32 mile (50meters) sprint was around 3.092sec. & it was a Morini / Suzuki V100 engine on modified Honda ZX Live frame.. i will post a photo of it as soon as i found one..

EDIT: here are the photos (the only pics. that i found)

that's what you always say its "UGLY, TERRIBLE & STRANGE".. well i dont care about that, all i know these people really cares about the SPEED & not much on the LOOKS.. maybe you have a beautiful race scoot, but how fast are they?? (i'm not under-estimating your capabilities, i know Dutch guys are good tuners) can you show me the fastest good looking scoot?? :?

I think these scooters and bikes look very ok. I like this style, just functional. But therefor it looks great. The whole package is just lightweight & enginepower.
People tell me my projectscooter looks like these asian sprintscooters.
I take it as a compliment...

Tinne has Spoken, and i AGREE!!

actually not only Asians do this kind of concept.. i saw a couple of photos of Italian sprint scoots, & they are really much lighter than these & also look "STRANGE" ..

Tinne, can you pls. give me the link of your project.. tnx!

I call them asian-styled scooters
A big difference with other sprint styles is that these scooters still have the original looks, but also the things needed to go fast...
My project: FKT Sprint NRG

A lot of those scooters don't seem te be very fast in my eyes, exept those with the impressive NOS systems ofcourse. "Emo", you say that the people in Japan only care about speed..but when I look at the scoots you've posted I can discover a lot of things that can be much better. For example..why use many people air cooled cilinders..liquid cooled cilinders are able to give more power than air cooled cilinders. But anyway thanks for the information..I have never seen pictures from Japanese meetings before. "Emo", do you maybe have some horse power scores from Japanes scooters? I'm interested what is normal for a Japanese meeting scooter.

there are some who race with L/C set up, but most of them ac A/C's.. may i remind you that JAP sprint racing is only 50meters & its time attack procedure.. so L/C cooling is not that necessary.. if i see some HP scores i'll post it in here, but i know they are not that powerful as you have there in NL..

Okej that's a good argument..but in Holland we also want to have much horse power but it seems that the most Japanese people don't give a lot about that.

A lot of horse power doesnt mean that it runs like hell on the street, i wish it was that simple. It does help for sure, but its a part of a big package...

Light little vork and rim

Doesnt weight much i think, especially the footpeddles(?)

Nice row, wheeleibars are standard here

Check the middle `golden` frame, with holes! it wasn`t me

Coolest thing around, look @ the seat. Simple & functional. It even looks ok with the rest. Thing has also got the right height btw...

Why does my scooter look like these ones?
I want a wheeliebar aswell! and a straight tailpipe......
