Gilera Runner 209 ccm Quattro valve

Just ask... because I'm looking for reason to crack 2 belts (wasn't new) in 500km.

Any good advise?

thanks

What kind of belts are you using?
Polinis?
And are you braking them in before full throttle?

I am acctually not shure on at what engine speed it performs the best.
But it does actually provide the power over a vide range. We tried with a fixed vario and it pumped 20+ for more than one third of the range.

Speedvise it maxed out at 170 something km/h Wich should be around 10.500 - 11.000 RPM (That is at least what the old engine did), and in that perspective. My guess is that max power is around 9.000 RPM, but of couse, that is to be mesured later this year.

Atm. I am still using the Malossi Dell'orto PHF 34 (125 main jet with 50 mm inlet pipe) But I am on the lookout for a 38 mm or something in that area.

Both belts was kevlar. One with 3k km and other with 8k km.

"And are you braking them in before full throttle?"
...don't understand question completely. They broke at full throttle. How do I know if the belt is braking or sliping? I have problem when I'm driving aprox. 90km/h or faster and then put throttle to the full, scooter tug (don't sure if correct word).
And I'm using malossi multivar, 125cc half pulley (just like you Velo), white malossi contrast spring and that is it.

Velo please tell me which rollers weight comes with Polini Maxi Speed variator (9 rollers).

Thanks for answer.

1: I was asking if you are driving gentle thus allowing your belt to get used to the strees level that the engine provides.

2: It is hard to tell if this is belt or carb. related. But both the short belt life and the problematic driving can be caused by pollution on vario, belt and torquedriver. If there is just the tiniest amount of oil or grease your vario will spin faster than the belt cousing tremendous tear running full throttle from low speed.
At higher speeds, your variosystem want's to change gears by it self cousing it to drive unconsistant and pulseating rather than smooth. And on top, cousing a lot of wear.

3: I can't remember the weights unfortunately, but i remember them quit heavy. Sorry

The brakelevers are Stage6. I am using Aerox masters.

Hey guys is there any performance advantage to be gained by installing a 200cc cam into a 125cc leader. I have a carnaby 125cc and installed a 200cc leader cylinder and want to get a little more performance. In addition while the head was off I noticed that it is slightly damaged (tiny gauge) - causing oil to leak into the coolant. I am contemplating getting a malossi head but I see it required the cylinder. Has anyone used the malossi head with the standard 200cc cylinder? I may just bite the bullet and get the full malossi set up but that about 1000 pounds on the malossi web page.

Do you guys have any input?

If you will gain power?
Well normally you will experience better pull at higher engine speeds = more power and speed, But lighter rollers are a must to get there.
You can use a racecam as long as you are running a 180 - 210 ccm kit (according to Malossi) I don't know the reasons for not advising it to the rest of the engines, but my guess is that it is because of to high engine speeds that it will give.

Conserning the Malossi head. You need to have enough valve clearance on your piston to use the oversize head. My best advise is to clarify with the Malossi page on where it is possible or not if answers don't show here.

Conserning the BIG Malossi kit for allmost 1.000€. Please notice that it is designed to work with a 60 mm stroke crank Quaser engine (And yours is only 48,6 mm stroke +/- my memory loss)

If you do plan to spend a lot of money. Go for the biggest :) I am pleased with my 280 ccm kit so far.

To warn all those who have plans to incorporate Kubler 300 and want to leave Serial Carburetor Keihin I needed them.

I have had a Walbro and scooters are not well behaved when adding gas had holes.

Polina Speed control is best installed without Torq only himself because of problems such as training transfer my experiences

My Runner
Malossi head, power CAM, Kubler 300, multivariate, reinforced belt Kubler (Inserted the cog belt from the water pump which has the SP 180 to the crank). Kevlar belt, Torq, delta of the SP180, red springs in the delta, PM tuning bell Malossi secondary, malossi cdi now I'll build Polina primary, carburetor me Serial scooter going very well for my needs carburetor type 34 is not interesting to me because it requires the yeast creates noise and that there is no way responsible or SBK exhaust type ... There are discs galfer braking, suspension Bitubo ........

That sounds like a good advice.
Allso my experience with the 9 Roller Polini is that it might work best with stock torque driver.

Your bike sounds nice to. Do you have a link?

I have had before on a scooter polina speed control is not with 9 rollers than 6, which was for Quaser 200-250 machines.

No way I could not get to be 100% since then only transfer kit Malossi there are no problems with performance

I know more friends who have had the same problem.
Again depend one hundred who will?

Velo those who worked inerotor

Does anyone know any information on this

http://cgi.ebay.it/Malossi-V4-31139...cambi_e_Accessori_Scooter&hash=item5d29a6e58a

Is the above link the same as found on malossi web page

http://www.malossistore.be/Prodotto.aspx?type=M&MM=MO/PICA125&C=3113914

I just want to be sure that this is a 210cc cylinder, cam, and head for my scoot piaggio carnaby 125cc. Today my bike started overheating bad due to the messed up head and I am looking to replace it with a malossi unit which requires their piston.

any info would be great.

If the machine LC water cooling to your scooter there is no reason why would not fit all when it is really designed for 125-200 machines Leader ...

Hey guys, do you know what tool is used to remove the star shaped bolts that hold the Carb manifold/flange to the head?

get a hamer and à flat screwdriver, hit the little piont From each side and it Will come loose. Now you can get it out with a normal torx.

Hey,

Long time no see;)
i bought à second runner new model and i'm gonna swap engines.
So, i was kinds busy putting thing together. And checking if everything is still in good shape.
so i also checked the gears and got surprised.
Not only was the sec. Gears changed also the prim. Gears

Polini primaire gears ?????

following gears where installed
pri. polini 17/44
sec. malossi 16/42
= RF 6,79

a standard vxr125 has
pri standard 15/46
sec standard 13/44
= RF 10,37

so i went from 10,37 / (to) 6,79 = 152,7% heavier
There was a chance to lose some top speed BUT get more torq.
So i also de-assambled the vxr125 gears and made the following gears
pri standard 15/46
sec. malossi 16/42
= RF 8.05

i will proberly lose aprox. 10/15 km/h top speed, but will hopefully gain aprox 10/15% more torq....
Ok also the rearwheel is tiny bigger 2% (from 12inch to 13inch)

i hope autowheelie :p

sometimes, i just feel like a little boy again on his first bicycle ;) hahah
