Painting Rims???

Hi, my rims is starting to look really bad now, so i wants to repaint them.
So if you guys can tell me step by step how im going to do to get a good result on the rims?? by step by step i mean cleaning and so on (im gonna spraypaint them myself)

I used a translation-site, so don't blame me for a couple of mistakes in the translation.

After each step there's a picture :

To spout rims
In these how to we show how you yourself,
easily can spout your rims.
Manners also other will be which are possible better,
but this way it has succeeded also well.

We spout now the rims in fluorine yellow,
where a white ondergrond for necessary is.
Also you must use always primer as a ondergrond.

Benodigheden:
- Primer (hechtgrond)
- Aerosol colour
- Blanke lake - grease remover
- barn paper korel 300/400
- Tape

Step 1:
Take away the rim of your scooter.


Step 2:
If you wheel eraf is, you must degrease these firstly and well to clean.
This prevents wear also less for barn paper.


Step 3:
Now the rim is well degreased,
you must look by means of barn paper that the oppervlak (rim) are.
Krassen, painting layers etc... must you ensure that they are.


Step 4:
Concerns now with a clean doek your rim the substance obtain eraf.


Step 5:
Package now a role with papers tape and plak the complete link finished.
If you the link empty lets run, you can do tape there between the rim and the link between, so that the link does not come sit under painting.
Thus the edge also netjes is worked finished.


Step 6:
Now the primer on the rim spout in several layers.
And lets each time 30 a tal spouts several layers minutes dry.
If you have entirely spouted the rim,
also the randjes, hoekjes etc..
can will start you to the colour.

There dirty on the rim, or to see you sit scrape still,
this can get rid of you by means of barn paper.
Afterwards also in several layers primer spout.


Step 7:
Now in several layers the colour spouts which you want on the rim.
And lets each time 30 a tal spouts several layers minutes dry.
If you have entirely spouted the rim,
also the randjes, hoekjes etc..
can will start you to the blanke lake.



Step 8:
If painting is well dry,
you can start with the blanke spout lake.
Care that spouts you this also in several layers,
differently get you druipers..


Step 9:
The rim lets dry longer time.
If painting/blanke lake is well gedroogt,
you can place the rim your scooter.

Why not get them powdercoated? Its not very expensive and its much tougher than paint. Your wheel will start flaking again soon if you re-paint them.
My local place does wheels for about 25 pounds (38 Euro) a wheel. I'm sure there must be somewhere near you that could do it?

divuk83: nice rims =) well yes there are, but here in Sweden it costs about the doubble to paint them, just one thing i thaught about, should'nt i clean them white some greaseremoving liquid ? to get the grease away so the paint can get a better grip?? and am i gonna clean the whole rim from paint or can i just fade the paint down and get all scratches away??

Always do that! Else the paintjob wil suck bigtime!

engine degreaser very cheap a few euro. Works wonders
