Also if you want to use an 85mm crank over a 80mm on a minarelli, all you need is a spacer @ 5mm. Both 80/85 have pro's/con's over them. Either that or you can use a cross piston with the team II cyl then you wouldn't need a spacer =)
there are benefits using a longer conrod especially on a high revving engine, less piston side thrust = less wear on the piston, ring wear would also be reduced but a 5mm spacer is a must if you don't have pistons with shorter compression height but i also find that to be an advantage (using a spacer).
