Gilera Runner not starting

Hi i have a gilera runner 50 with a polini evo 70cc kit and it won't start. i've checked the spark plug and the petrol flow, can anybody help me?

Is the kit freshly mounted? Get some starter spray, that should ease a lot the first starting.

no its been on it for a good while. it was running about three weeks ago but my kick-start broke so i couldn't try until last week and now it won't start. i checked the reeds today and there fine. any idea?

to get an engine started after a long time not being used
simply do the following
Place some bit of tissue paper into the carb as if to almost fully block the air flow
then it will start

i've tried that with my hand already and still no luck

go with the toilet paper the hand is no good!
when you have spark fuel and compression a 2-stroke will start

yea that seemed to have worked it starts for a few seconds and then cuts out

check your cylinder if it has scratches, because on my team 2 i had the same prob and took cyl off today.. and my cyl is fucked
