Additional regulations Pro Scooter
Racing distance limited to 1/8 mile. Competitors must be 16 years over.
Designation: PS-, preceded by rider number .
1. Definition: This class will be for mopeds- or scooters, modified for dragracing.
2. Engine: Must be of a type specifically designed and manufactured for a production moped or scooter with 50 cc displacement. May be of other make or type. If liquid cooling is used: only watercooling allowed. No factory-racing or crosser engines allowed. Capacity restrictions: Maximum 90 cc. Stroke of engine may not be altered.
3. Fuel: Only general available road fuels allowed. Only lubricating 2-stroke additives allowed.
4. Fueltank: Must be securely attached to frame.
5. Exhausts: Working muffler required.
6. Frame: Any type allowed. Must be of sound construction. Control devices must fitted securely. No sharp edges allowed. If a fairing is added, it must be fitted securely.
7. Clutch: Operation by rider only. Lock-up systems allowed if fitted in stock housing. Clutch-cover spacers allowed.
8. Gearbox: If engine has no 5- or 6 speed gearbox as OEM, casings may be replaced to allow 5 or 6 gear boxes to be used. No external gear box al*low*ed. Automatic or semi-automatic boxes prohibited, unless OEM. Maximum of 6 gears allowed. Electro- or airshifters allowed. Front chain-drive spro*cket must be covered.
9. Carburetor: Any type of carburetor may be used. Type of 2-stroke induction system may be altered.
10. Supercharger and turbocharger: Not allowed.
11. Nitrous oxide: Not allowed.
12. Electrical: Any ignition system allowed.
13. Lights: Lenses must be taped over. Mirrors and indicators must be removed or taped over. License plates must be removed.
14. Seats: Any type allowed. Must be securely fitted to the machine. Any padding must be securely attached to the seat.
15. Mudguards: Allowed. Must be securely fitted.
16. Chainguard: Mandatory. Scrutineer decides about safety.
17. Stands: Must be securely fitted with a spring or other wise wired up or removed.
18. Front suspension: Must be operational. Any make or type allowed. Lo*wer*ing of tubes through yokes allowed, as long as travel or steering is unaffected.
19. Rear suspension: Any make or type allowed. Modified swinging arm, *struts, or hard-tail frame allowed.
20. Brakes: Working front- and rear brakes mandatory.
21. Wheels: Minimum 12” diameter.
22.Tyres: : Readily available motorcycle street tyres only, 1.5 mm minimum *tread depth measured before start of racing event. Tyres that have manufactory wear indicators like MT are worn when the tire and indicator are level .Slicks, hand cut slicks and tyres marked ‘Not for highway use’ not allowed. Any tyre which, in the opinion of the scrutineer, bears any *signs of having sidewall markings or lettering tampered with, will be grounds for immediate exclusion of the rider from the event.
23. Wheelie bars: Allowed.
24. Protective clothing: Mandatory is: Helmet certified for street use, and gloves. Clothing must be presented for scrutineering
