I have a Vespa PK 50 XL from 89' with 3 speeds and want to limit it with a rev limiter. does it fit or not

Has your scooter a cdi or points with a capasitor?

Here a link to several types of pk50's which one do you own?

Edit: I checked all schematics and came to the conclusion that they all have a cdi, so i presume yours has too.

The limiter is normaly parallel connected to the pickup coil of the ignition.
The schematics are not very clear which of the coils on the statorplate is the pickup coil but Piaggio normaly uses a red wire for the pickup-signal.

Edit2: If you want to build a limiter yourself, here a link:

Thank you…but unfortunately it failed
I installed the limiter, red on red and black on the ground. I also tested the connnection with a multi meter and the contact is OK.
On the speed switch there are 2 adjustments:
- A white dial switch: 0 to 9 and A to F
- A blue dial switch: not sure what this does?
I tested combinations with 0 and 9 and the blue dial all up to all down.
All with the ON/OFF switch alternated.
Any ideas what to check? No speed change at all. Kinda lost
Thanks!
