best manifold

Currently running a 17.5mm carb on my bike setup mainly mhr rep 70's with raised ports, team2 pipe, polini reed valve and 120jet. I beleive the jet is too big so knocking it down by 10, upgrading the carb to 21mm or 25mm dellorto because i have many dellorto jets. Want to get the best bottom end power, i believe to do this i need thin c/f reeds .28mm? and what about manifolds, im running a stock minarelli one but what makes it so bad? and what makes the others so good? shortness, length, width?

The cross section of the manifold should be = to the carb. Short manifolds are better for higher RPM, and long manifolds are better for low RPM's.

the cross secion on my manifold is equal to the carb, by then it widens where it meets the reedblock and the polini has a stuffer so its a small hole and the manifold has a bogger hole. Should it be the same diameter to make the fuel flow more efficient?
