i see that some guys have their air filters pointing directly towards the rear wheel.

what need to be done to do this
how do i raise my engine mounting up

you need to re-weld your subframe so that you can turn back the carburator and buy another intake-manifold so you can point your carburator backwards

can someone show some pictures of how and where to re-weld the subframe

can i do the same by lowering the engine mounting

search for "subframe verlassen" and you will, most definetely find some pics

like:

or

subframe2.jpg

you will need the same kind of intake as shown on the second photo

Some carburettors dont like the inclination - I've had trouble with the Mikuni TM24 and 28mm flatslide carburettors.

My D'O 28mm barrelslide dont care about the Malossi inlet @ 45 degrees.

are there manifolds which dont put such an inclination on the carb

also will i need a longer throttle cable???

the normal cable will do, and you could use a "wig":

you put this under the intake to decrease the inclination

why do you want this?

you need a short manifold for this, so your carburator stands a another position so filter comes above rearwheel.

what does the Ram air effect mean

and by the way supercharging doesnt work on a 2-stroke

i bought a ram air filter from sip if thats what u mean

What type of bike do u have?
I use a bennelli 491 and the carb face's the front of the bike b/c of the middle braceof the frame. So b/c of the way the carb face's when u are riding air is actually being forced in to the mouth of the carb. Also we use a velocity cone on the mouth of the carb to help channel air in.

This is my subframe, but you will also need this:

To put the carb more horizontal.

It is called a "wig", and on this you must mount a piaggio mhr manifold

[NOT the top picture with the minarelli manifold!]

In theory you could supercharge the engine, but the charger should be placed between the carburettor and the engine.

You could also make a sealed box were the carburettor is inside, and the supercharger blows air into this box.
This would prevent the trouble of the gasoline getting blown out of the carburettor trough the owerflow.
But then you would need a fuel pump and a regulator for the fuelpressure.

By the way, turbocharging would kill the engine - a supercharger should'nt.
The supercharger would be driven by the crankshaft.

A friend of mine made an ESV unit( electric supercharging vortex). We fitted on a scooter and it was awsome but still working with proper jetting for race application. Drag race its great but lap race exhaust temputure is to hot after 4 laps. Ouch (hahahahaha).
