Gear up kit

Ive got a honda X8RS, fully derestricted, with a leo vince 's' exhaust. Would i be able to put in a secondary gear up kit in at this stage ? (bear in mind ill change to 6.4 rollers and tighter clutch springs in the process) its just that my scooter maxes out at 40 and i dont want to buy a racing cdi unit because they are like 79 quid, and a gear up is 35ish, Thanks.

Fully derestricted ? I thought a honda X8rs CDI is resticted till 7500, and if you derestrict the CDI unit, it won't go further than 9500 rpm.

I had a x8r-s too, with a polini secundary gear kit...it went from 85 km/h to 95km/h
(Rest of setup: 17,5 mm dell'ortho and athena 70ccm)
At 95 km/h it ran in to the cdi limit

definatly cdi espesialy if you plan more mods in the future

Get a 24 or 26m.m. carb, a full flow air filter and a good reed cage.

My first modifications to my bike were Leo Vince ZX, carb, air filter and Polini reed cage, some roller tuning as well and I got a very nice improvement.

The ignition is a very good set-up if you're planing to go far, in this case make a good investment and buy the best you can: MVT, HPI, PVL SELLETRA, Etc.

Both but I would go girst for the gear change.

Is there any difference between a top gear or a polini gear up kit ?

Usually Top gear comes with the wheel axle and Polini just the gear.
