keep the reinforcement pix coming. i like the idea of it, i dont want to be riding and have a case snap in half, thats very scary.
If you use the variator/engine case cover with all of the fixing screws this breaking doesn't happen!

Unfortunately it does break even with all screws in place, of course it's always better to put all the screws to make it more stiff.

I have had some tuned 125-180cc engine, and I've also built 200 cc engine, and doesn't have any cracking.
For this type of cracking you need something else not only a powerful engine. Maybe a very intensive resonance, or extremly high load (or lot of stoppies, wheelies, off-road riding etc).
I am very interesded in how much engine cracking do you know (piaggio 125-210cc)?
