Waterpump std vs electric

Thinking about upgrading from my std Waterpump to a electric jut so it will be easier to adjust the ignition. Just wonder how many liter per minute the std one pumps @ 10000rpms. Know that the "blue" one pumps 15l/per minute. Will it work as good with one that pumps 7-9 liter/ per minute?
My thought is that the one that pumps a smaller amout og water will let the water be in the radiator for a longer time.
Is that right or will the radiator do the work as good if the water will go trough there in 15l/per minute?

Aloha, I installed a LC malossi replica cylinder on my Minarelli AC. Some time ago I had an electric wp setup and the electric motor seemed to be short lived and exposed to rain, etc. This time I went to a boat supply and got a "totally enclosed sump pump" that delivers 23 Liters per min and an inlet fitting that I machined to fit. I hooked it up to my light system, so the pump barely spins at idle and spins very fast at 14v or so. The radiator is very hot to the touch at the top and only warm at the bottom and the motor stays at 300 degrees F (head temp) even at 12,000 WOT and now it is 90F here during the day. I am also using the Thermostat. I understand that the manual pump that is on the mageto side takes almost 1 hp from the engine. In addition that the LC is a much quieter engine, the electric pump seems to be the way to go. I would look at how much the water temp changed from the top to the bottom of the radiator to judge if a faster flow is better or worse.

and you are also loading the engine with your electric pump by running it from the light coils, where did you think that energy was coming from?
if you really want to keep those extra 20 watts you should run your pump from the 12v battery in your scooter

Aloha, I heard from an esperienced tuner here that 1 hp is robbed from using the manual waterpump (not the electric one). My High output electric pump draws too much power (2A versus .6A from the "proper" 9 lpm pump) from the regulated (battery) side and kills the battery, especially if driving with lots of stop and go/idle. It is a very high output pump that I bought cheaply for trial. The unregulated side (lights) do not dim with this pump and I like the fact that the pump must almost stop spinning at idle and turns like a SOB at 12k when more flow is needed. WOT @ 85kph up a steep 5 mile hill here keeps the engine still at 300 deg F. Lets see how long it lasts and if it burns out my light coil. frank

My hi output pump consumes up to 24 watts. Low output one consumes 7 watts

An electric pump will consume at most 20 Watts, but a mechanic pump consumes more. Depending on the engine between some 0,1hp to 1hp.

Mine too, but those blue ones will consume around 2A.

I'm not doing this mod because the manual is a problem. Just want to do it so I easy can adjust the ignition. But how is the diffrens between how many l/per minute it pumps.

For every ignitionmodell it has a adjument level!
So why waste time to adjust it? =S Only need one time to do it if you do it right.
A Reichen pump is not so good because it pumps the same amount of water the hole time.

Its easy enough to control the speed of the electric pumps with a rheostat.

Aloha, I sometimes leave my key on and the electric pump is running. After 3 hours it will still startup with the electric starter, around 4 hours the battery is getting weak. I also have a larger #5 battery. frank
