Can anyone help?

I have a Piaggio Zip race bike and i've fitted a RS24/10 malossi suspension on the front but i need some pointers on how to set the preload for my weight so i can then go on to set a base setting for the Compression and Rebound.

Some pointers?Hmm...

Hard to say because it depends on everyone driving style and the tyres as well.
There is no certain adjustment for all.Often you have to readjust on different tracks.
Most people put all the things on medium and start going than...
I personally set all on maximum hard and than lap for lap i begin to adjust the preload,High low pressure(my case the stage 6 susp.) etc...
The best u can do is to go on track and take a lap and tell us how it performs...than we can give you some hints

measure the full travel of your suspension & give about 30% to 33% of that travel as your rider sag, set the preload adjuster until you reach that value then adjust the damping to suit.

At the moment the Preload is just over half way compressed but with it like this i have to run my compression on 18 clicks in (hard) out of 24 to stiffen it up enought for racing. Obviously if its a wet race you should turn the preload down to uncompress the spring but when dry compress it again. But it should stay set for all circuits because it sets your travel limit so you dont bottom out. Then just adjust the compression and rebound. im guessing i need to go harder on the preload so i then have an even range of adjustment for the compression. Does this sound right?
