How far is too far ?

when you are matching the engine cases to the cylinder how much is enough ? What techniqis do you use ? does it make a noticiable difference ?

In general, i match the crank case to the block in which i plan to be running... there are many different opinion on whether to polish the crank case, or to sand blast.... i've polished my crankcases and have seen a performance difference for the better... although i haven't had the chance to try sandblasting as of yet... i'll let you know how it runs when i do...
