The reason most kits are supplied with the G type clip is so you can't get circlip pliers on them. If you could as with the B type then chances are you'll probably squash them past the point of elasticity (so they don't spring back enough to grip the circlip groove enough).
Heating them up to reuse?? Are you joking? They are made from heat treated steel and heating them up removes or anneals them making them as soft as putty.
Use the G type as they are made so you can only compress them enough to get them into the groove (unless you have hands like mole grips*D ). If you wish to reuse (not recommended) then be carefull how you take them out and only remove one side. TBH they are so cheap it just isn't worth using old ones especially on high reving engines.:|
