Front end cap

I bought a used Derbi Atlantis 50cc scooter and the shop called me today and said that I might need a new front end cap because the engine shroud wasn't on when the scooter had been running so it might be blown out. I asked how to fix it and they said they would install a new front end cap. What is a front end cap? Is it the top part where the spark plug is screwed into or what??
