That only happens if you blow a air stream directly on you're skin, for example with an air pistol.lifeonaplate said:You do NOT want to mess about with any compressed air, You could die pretty fast if it gets into the blood stream
When you have a high preasure tube whitch pumps a liquid, like a hose of a hydrolic crane, if it leaks you'll get a spout. That can be dangerous. But if you have a static volume of liquid under a certain preasure it only splashes aroud if it bursts. You can stop emediatly when you are using a handpump.
Now back to gasses. When a kettle filled with a large amount of compressed air explodes you'll have the same effect as a combustion. A large volume expandes in a short time. When the preasure is high enough you can easily lose you're hand with it...
Try it yourselve with baloons... What happens if you fill a baloon with water till it breaks? Suddenly there is a big flush but nothing more than that. But what if you do the same with air? Suddenly there's a big bang. The balloon explodes. Imagine the balloon is made of steel like a C16. The bang will be very dangerous...
